Year 12 Physics

On Monday 27 June, the Year 12 Physics class took a trip to the radioactivity labs at the University of Canterbury.

The boys carried out half life experiments with radioactive sources, tried on radiographer protective gowns and learned about Ernest Rutherford's groundbreaking experiments. As well as getting to play with liquid nitrogen and some cool physics toys.

A big thanks to Graeme and Clifford at UC, and Katie from Rutherford's Den, for taking the time to help the boys have fun with physics and help them prepare for the NCEA assessment around radioactivity.
