Special Character Week

What is Special Character Week?

Special Character Week is a College tradition to honour our Catholic Special Character.

Special Character Week (SCW) is five days of events held in the last week of Term 2: July 4th – July 8th 2022

Why do we do it?

At the heart of SCW are relationships. We promote connections with God, with our mentor brothers, with our friends, with teachers and wider community to encourage & celebrate all students as diverse, holy & happy STCC Young Men.

It is a chance for students and staff to collaborate and strengthen the ways they belong and believe.

Our Special Character is our Catholic Character, and this Catholicism is viewed through the charism of the Edmund Rice Network:

· we are inclusive

· we are justice makers

· we honour the Treaty of Waitangi and walk in solidarity with the indigenous people of Aotearoa

· we are prayerful

On top of this we can add more layers: we celebrate what it means to be a Catholic boys’ school in Aotearoa New Zealand.
