Cave Stream - March

The Year 11 Outdoor Education class recently had an exciting trip to Cave Stream, an underground cave system in the Canterbury region. The trip was designed to give the students a chance to experience caving and the outdoors, while also stepping out of their comfort zones.

The group of 20 students were required to meet certain safety standards before embarking on the trip, but once they arrived, they were able to enjoy the unique experience of exploring the cave system. The trip was made possible thanks to the hard work of Mr Lange and Mr Scadden, who have worked tirelessly to grow the outdoor education programmes at St Thomas of Canterbury College.

The students had an unforgettable time exploring the underground world of Cave Stream, and the trip was capped off with a stop to try a world-famous Sheffield pie on the way back to school. We would like to extend a special thanks to Mr Burton and Mr Muir for their help on the trip.

At St Thomas of Canterbury College, we believe in providing our students with opportunities to challenge themselves and grow outside of the classroom. The Year 11 Outdoor Education class trip to Cave Stream is just one example of the amazing experiences our students are able to have thanks to our dedicated staff and robust outdoor education programmes.
