The South West Across School Kahui Ako Event

EyesupNZ - Driving and the Teenage Brain, hosted by Nathan Wallis and Greg Murphy, was well attended on Tuesday evening in the STC school hall.

Key messages from this event were;

1. How the brain works when driving

2. Speed, alcohol and drugs, mobile phones

3. Dealing with peer pressure

4. Key driving safety tips

The Q&A session also enabled audience engagement and the opportunity to seek clarification on uncertainties around driving and smartphone use.

Clearly, it was made apparent smartphones while driving are dangerously distracting and the best place for them while driving is out of sight and out of mind.
