Samoan Language Week ... here at STC

"Keeping the language and culture alive."

Talofa Lava

The importance of celebrating Samoan language week here at STC is that it gives us a chance to promote, raise awareness and share our culture, not only with Sāmoans but also non-Sāmoans students and staff here at STC.

Samoan language week aims to provide a better understanding of who we are which helps to strengthen our brotherhood even more and keeping the Samoan language alive. With the Samoan theme this year, to me it means to offer our time, our efforts and God given talents to help serve others. It can be in our families, our churches, in our community or here at school. If you serve with the right heart which is with love, we know that God will bless us.

I would also like to thank everyone who has made it possible and who supported us to celebrate this special occasion, Hamish Barclay - acting principal and staff especially Matafeo Johnny Leo'o, Sai Saukuru, Christina Tuiloma, our Pasifika Leader - Sanele Uliano for leading our boys and last but not least, our parents for your ongoing support. Fa’afetai lava.
