Sports Awards 2022

As we enter the business end of the winter sports season the sport department have started our preparations for the annual Sports Awards Night for 2022.

WHAT IS STC SPORTS AWARDS NIGHT?

This night is to celebrate our young men who are achieving at the highest level in their chosen sporting arena(s) over the time frame of Nov 2021 – Oct 2022, both team achievements and individual.

Date: Early Term 4 (Week 1 or 2)

Venue: TBC

*Once the above are finalised you will be informed immediately.

We stress that Sports Awards are just around the corner, and we are looking to collate all of our boys sporting achievements.

WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want to know about EVERY sporting achievement your son has achieved from November 2021 – October 2022.

Whether your son has made a representative team, or tournament, achieved placings in their respective individual sports, or anything you/the student think is worthy of being recognised on the night.

The following are examples of submissions:

Jack Mayo entered the 50m Freestyle event at the Canterbury Swimming Champs and placed 1st or Johnny Leo’o was selected in the U16 Canterbury Metro Development Team

The sports department will have the final say on whether or not a achievement is worthy of being nominated for a major award at the annual sports awards dinner. If an achievement does not get recognised on the night it will be recognized via the St Thomas Sports Page.

Submission options:

(1) Email acoulthard@stc.school.nz

(2) Complete the form attached and hand it to Mr Coulthard (or any member of the Sport Department) in person.

Trial Dates - If your son has not had their respective sport representative trial yet, please could you let me know the date of the trial so we can follow up with the student post trial/tournament, as we do not want any student missing out on being recognised.
