Speech finalists ready to shine
Stanley Bay School held their speech finals last Thursday and the school was treated to a wide range of highly engaging speeches.
The topics ranged from Ballet, Aliens are real, through to Football and why moving is good for you. After some extremely difficult judging, the four winners were announced.
Coming in third equal was Molly Green and Charlotte Avery. Molly made a strong case for why kids should be allowed to vote, and Charlotte made us all laugh when informing us why kids have more fun than adults.
The top two speakers delivered outstanding messages. The runner up was Taylor Travers, who carefully and directly told us why she believes that nurses should be paid more. The overall winner, Clementine Lynskey, delighted us all with a very animated and hilarious speech on what she would do if she were Prime Minister. (Let's just say that broccoli is out and chocolate is the new norm!!)
A fantastic effort by all finalists in producing such a high calibre of speeches. Congratulations to the winners and best of luck to Clementine and Taylor, who will represent Stanley Bay in the cluster speech finals. These will be held at the Stanley Bay School hall on Thursday 8 September at 9.15am. All the peninsular primary schools will be sending their two speech finalists to compete. All welcome.
