Term 4 program of inquiry

John Waller —

The teachers have been busy planning the teaching and learning program for term 4 and have lots of exciting opportunities in the pipeline.

The whole school inquiry focus for term 4 is technology. Students will be concentrating on the graduate profile component of creativity and we will be looking in more detail at our value of integrity.

The juniors will be working on the central idea - 'People create for a reason' and will be following the lines of inquiry: Materials have properties, Planning is part of the making process and Ways of making

The year 3s and 4s will be inquiring into the central idea - 'The interrelationship between society, technology and the environment' and will investigate the lines of inquiry: Technology addresses a need, Planning and evaluating and Materials and performance

The seniors will look at the central idea - 'The role of technology in human possibility' and will be inquiring into the lines of inquiry: Past and future technology, Materials can be manipulated and Real function Vs alternative function

As always, we are really keen to involve the school community to help enrich the experiences we provide for our students. So if you have any knowledge, experience or expertise in any of these areas and would be able to share this with the Stanley Bay students please contact your child's class teacher with a brief outline of what you would be able to do to help.
