Rippa Rugby

Rachael Hamilton —

On a sunny Wednesday last week Stanley Bay School sent 8 teams to the Peninsula Rippa Rugby Tournament.

Thursday 25 May 8:30 I was rushing out of the front door. I was rushing out of the front door because I was going to my first rippa rugby tournament. I was so excited, I rushed to school as fast as I could. The school gates were full of people in their school uniforms with their bags full of the stuff they needed for the tournament. I found some of my friends and started to talk about the tournament ahead.

After the roll, the huge bus rolled into the parking outside the school. It was a very fancy bus. When we were all on the bus, sitting next to a buddy, I was sitting next to Issy. We were chatting all the way to Takapuna Rugby Club where we were going to play our four games.

We finally were at Takapuna Rugby Club. We were walking around the field trying to find our gazebo, but when we walked past the tuck shop the smell of the chips were insane. We found our gazebo and unpacked our bags.

I was sprinting and RIP, I pulled someone's ripoff. The game kept getting better, Juliette got so many trys. And we won the first game. After the game we all wanted to go to the tuck shop, but the next game was soon. The next game we lost, but the good thing was I nearly got a try. That was fun though. After the bad second game, we all rushed to the tuck shop with our money. There was so many things to eat. After the tuck shop we only had a few more minutes left till our next game. Our third game was so close and at the last second the other team got a try. That was not fun. We had a great last game, we were playing Belmont.

It was a great day. We got on the bus, and as soon as we were at school I felt soooooo hungry.
