Garden to Table has now been going for a full term and each of the three classes involved has had an opportunity to work in the garden, the kitchen, and as the Kaitiakitanga

We have used produce from our garden to make fritters and salads and to flavour our breads, butters, humous, etc. 

In the kitchen, Vettinia Ross has been working with the children on their knife skills and measuring. Anita Kanziora and Graham Lawry have been helping the children plant seeds and seedlings in our garden, plan what to plant and to develop ways to protect the plants. 

We are doing so well that we have had to source another planter box. Our Kaitiakitanga group takes responsibility for things such as our compost system, having our rat traps checked, and setting the tables.

Thank you to all the parents who have put their hand up to help in the kitchen and garden, even when it has been bucketing down outside! We couldn't do it without you.
