Interschool Soccer

Scott Boniface —

On Tuesday the 20th of October, three teams of eager soccer playing enthusiasts arrived at Allen Hill stadium for a sun drenched day of fun and footy.

The structure of the day meant all teams were mixed gender and followed a seven a side format, with games of 15 minutes.

The year four teams had a mixture of results in pool play, bagging a win and a draw in their respective groups. This meant that the team led by Mr B ended up playing an exciting game for the plate semi final, losing in a drop off game (lose one player per minute) to a fired up Hauraki team. The other Year four team, coached wonderfully by Mrs Lancelot made the last playoff against St Josephs and ended up winning their game 4-0.

The year 6 team had an incredible day, winning the majority of their games and advancing through to the championship playoff, winning that game to proceed to the grand final. After a hard fought battle and some outstanding play from all the team and expertly coached by Mr Tibbots, they succumbed to Belmont Primary by a slight 1-0. Their second place overall capped off a hugely enjoyable day for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all the parents who transported our students to the event and for their support during the day.
