HUGE Thank you!

Lucy Naylor —

One of the many, many fabulous things about Stanley Bay is the support we receive from the community. Despite an 'unusual' year of school, one of the highlights has been the wealth of helpers who continue to given up their time to support our children.

Help comes in many guises and we are so fortunate to have parents who willingly and tirelessly give their time to support us in so many ways: Waterwise volunteers, spelling and reading helpers, Board members, FOSB Team, sports managers, coaches, chess co-ordinators, builders, bakers, disco co-ordinators, sausage sizzlers,  rocket scientists (yes really), open morning organisers, kapa haka uniform washers..... to name but few!

The actions of those helpers go beyond the task, in a year when above all else we have learned to be kind, a smile, a compliment, a high five or thumbs up can go along way to help children feel safe and happy.

We have a well-deserved reputation for being a strong community, and this year has been no exception. Raising children is a team sport and to see the community and school work together to improve the outcomes for all our children is inspiring. You have proved that volunteers do not want to be praised for helping, rather you are the people who thank others for giving them the opportunity to help.

I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks and a massive shout out to everyone who has given their time, energy, and enthusiasm to our school. You may not realise it but you are the real superheroes in the lives of the children!

He aha te mea nui o te ao. He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata
What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
