On the 6th of August, 5 of our student leaders had the privilege of going to the board of trustees meeting that evening.

Lizzy Rm 9 —

The leaders were Lizzy Turner, Ella and Luke Tibbotts, Brody Baker and Mac Wilson. There was one leader who helped with creating the presentation, but wasn’t able to turn up, and that was Poppy Cousins.

In the presentation, we talked about all the responsibilities and challenges of being a house captain, and a sports captain. We also talked about what we think we could do next, to improve our leadership at SBS, such as having an overall leader for the leadership team.

An example of the presentation for house leadership is: “The responsibility of a house captain is to be a role model, and help with some events, such as the house captain’s sports day”.

An example of sports leadership in the presentation is: “I think sports leadership will help in the future because it will teach us sportsmanship”.

Some of the board asked questions afterwards, such as “what do you enjoy about leadership”, and lots more. We answered them honestly, and went home feeling prouder than before.
