Our fundraising plan had to change dramatically this year, and to replace the Stanley Bay Stampede the Friends of Stanley Bay School are launching a Knowledge-athon: a mind-fizzing, fundraising quiz!

As homework for the first weeks of this term, your children will have the opportunity to learn the answers to a fun quiz which includes questions about Aotearoa and our very own school. All questions will be supplied in advance and split based on a junior, middle, or senior level. Warning: parents may learn something new too!
We hope that students will find sponsors to support them on this knowledge-quest in time for quiz day on Wednesday 5 August. There will be participation spot prizes as well as whole-class and teacher prizes for the classes which achieve the largest number of sponsors. The focus is on taking part versus results, working together as a class towards a common goal, raising funds for SBS, and joining in the fun. We hope that this is a great opportunity for your whole family to test their general knowledge whilst raising valuable funds for the school. 

Our fund-raising target for the event is $8,000

SBS Knowledge-athon Key dates

• 21 July: Your child will receive their question and sponsorship packs at school

• 4 August: All sponsorship forms must be submitted (online or dropped to the office)
• 5 August: Knowledge-athon quiz day!

Please join us for our special knowledge-athon prizegiving assembly followed by afternoon tea on Friday14 August, 2.15pm

* 7- 14 August: Sponsors to ensure funds are deposited directly into the FOSBS bank account. 

All children should have received your pack -so please start getting sponsors and studying the questions.
