Spectacular Stanley Bay Stampede!

Lucy Naylor —

What a fabulous day for Stanley Bay... a hugely successful event that raised the spirits of the community. Mud, rain, mud, sun, more mud and a whole lot of happy smiling people!

A huge SHOUT OUT to FOSB and their team of 50+ helpers who pulled together a community event of epic proportions. We are extremely fortunate to have such a supportive and involved parent community who can orchestrate events such as this. A very special mention to Kelly Seaburg (FOSB Chair) for leading the charge from vision to event.  Kelly's tireless leadership and superb organisational skills have created a signature event that we hope will be a part of Stanley Bay for years to come.

What was most rewarding was to see the awesome effort from our children it was fantastic to see so many pushing themselves outside their comfort zone, climbing haystacks, racing up the slippery slope, rolling in the mud and getting down right filthy  (apologies for all the washing!) while enjoying a family day out.

We talk to the children a lot about the school values and we certainly saw them in action as they clambered and slid over obstacles...'have a go' and 'try, try and try again' were the battle cries from supporters. What a way to teach resilience, persistence and a growth mindset. I am sure there were many children who achieved something on Sunday they didn't think possible.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our Stanley Bay parents who gave their time to pull off a spectacular stampede!

...watch out for the article and photos in this week's Flagstaff!
