Next Wednesday, June 22nd Waterwise will be holding a fundraising sausage sizzle during lunchtime.

Sausages are $2.50 each and will be cash only on the day (change will be available).

Waterwise is run 100% by volunteers and relies on grants, sponsorship/donations and fundraising. All proceeds of this sausage sizzle will go directly to Devonport Schools Waterwise and will be used for the ongoing maintenance/repair of lifevests, wetsuits, kayaks, optis (sailboats) and patrol boats.

All year 6 families (or those with older siblings) will already be aware of Waterwise, but for those of you unfamiliar, Waterwise is an activity offered to all schools on the Devonport Peninsula for education outside the classroom and aims to encourage and develop children’s water safety and awareness. It provides an introduction to sailing, kayaking and boogie board rescues. Through attending Waterwise sessions it is hoped that children enjoy the marine environment of New Zealand safely and increase their self confidence and self awareness around the water.

All year 6 students at Stanley Bay attend these sessions.

Many thanks for your support!
