An absolute success ...

Friends of Stanley Bay —

The inaugural Stanley Bay Stampede was an absolute success. One parent described families as having “face-splitting smiles and laughing until their bellies hurt.”

The resilience shown when faced with less-than-optimal weather was outstanding.

We had 482 entrants and can report that we’ve made in excess of $19,000, which is beyond what we’d hoped for. Over $10,000 of this was raised by our own SBS children via sponsorship. Many children embraced the fundraising spirit and came up with ingenious ways to raise funds, including multiple bake stalls down in Devonport village and mowing lawns. The children loved working towards reaching a financial goal and feel connected to the outcome.

For FOSB, our goal was two-fold: to have an event that was for the children and our wider community as well as being financially successful. Both of these goals were achieved and the feedback has been entirely positive so we will certainly look to repeat this again next year.
