"I found that I was nervous at first but by the end of the term, I was confident enough to dribble all the way to the hoop to score a goal. Our coach is very helpful because he taught us how to work as a team, be confident in shooting goals, put your hands up in defence."

This has been an amazing year and what makes it better is to be able to have fun working together and playing basketball with an amazing group of people. I can’t believe we won first place. It felt so good to see 4-2 written on the screen. I have loved playing basketball and can’t wait to go and make some more amazing memories."

We had such a fun season with our basketball team. Some players played last year as well. Other players were new to the game. I was one of them. We were also the youngest team in our league. Having dad and Olivia (Matilda's mum) as our coaches was amazing, because they taught us so much and made us play better every game. We lost our first game very badly, but then during practice we did not only learn how to shoot and defend, but also to play as a team. I am so proud of being on the SBS Cheetahs team and I hope we can have another win in this new season. Goooo Cheetahs!"- Mia V
The transformation of the Stanley Bay Cheetahs from a group of girls where most of them had never played basketball into a team of confident, resilient and crafty players has been truly remarkable.
The girls should be proud of their progress and achievements - all while having loads of fun."
