Learning in Self-Isolation.

John Waller —

Self-isolation is an effective precautionary measure to protect those around you from contracting COVID-19. It means taking simple, common-sense steps to avoid close contact with other people as much as possible as you would with the seasonal flu virus.

However, we know it’s a stressful time, especially when trying to do what is right for our children. The current advice from the Ministry of Health is if your children don’t need to self-isolate, they can continue to attend school and other normal activities. If your child does need to self isolate or as a family you decide to self isolate them, in this bulletin, there are several articles listing learning activities you can use to minimise the disruption to your children learning.

It is important to bear in mind that while there is value to be had from learning away from school it should be seen more as reinforcement or revision rather than new learning.
