Following last term's local school tournament and for the first time in quite a few years SBS qualified for the Auckland regional Chess Power tournament last week.

Six schools competed to go through to Nationals and played a grueling 7 games against some of the best junior players in Auckland. Our team showed bravery and sportsmanship. Special mention to Toma and Roman who each scored 3.5 points for the team. 

No medals this year but we're practicing for next year already. Great effort from the team!
