Celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori te wā tuku reo - Māori Language Moment - Tuesday 14th at 12pm

Rachael Hamilton —

Spoken, written, sung… no matter how you communicate this Mahuru (September), do it in te reo Māori. It’s easy, fun and a great way to learn.

Māori Language Moment - Tuesday 14th at 12pm

Next week is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori - Maori Language Week and we are celebrating this at Stanley Bay by participating in the nation wide Maori Language Moment. We would love for you to record your moment at home and send it in to Mr Boniface. He will then create aa fantastic video of everyone's moments together. Some ideas could be: singing waiata, reciting your mihi or pepeha, learning some new kupu (words), reading a Te Reo story book. For other ideas check out this website: https://www.reomaori.co.nz/ideas

Or see below, this years Te wiki virtual classroom made by Megan Hoskin from Today in History NZ.

Send in photos or videos of your moment to Mr Boniface at sboniface@stanleybay.school.nz by Thursday the 16th of September.

You set your challenge. Then during that time, regardless of who you speak to, or where you speak it, you do it only in te reo Māori.

Have a go with your family!
