Home Learning - August 2021

Lucy Naylor —

At Level 4, we will be providing online learning for our students. However, we also understand that your family comes first, we encourage you to do what is best for your child/ren at this time. Learning should be fun and engaging for all involved!

How do I access my child's learning?

Each class has a timetable, which includes the daily schedule and links to online meetings and resources. You can access your child timetable in the 'Class Timetable' article.

What are the teaching workshops?

Each day, class teachers will be giving lessons or 'teaching workshops', we encourage all children to participate. The workshops will be the teaching of concepts and skills that will complement the independent work that has been set.

In addition, there will be a range of workshops offered by teaching staff and teacher aides such as storytime, literacy groups, art inquiry, food technology and PMP. These are intended to be fun, and engaging.

The link to the workshops will be included in the weekly timetable.

What is my child/s log on and password?!

If your child has trouble logging onto a learning tool, please email your child's teacher or Scott Boniface (sboniface@stanleybay.school.nz) and they will be able to help.

How can I get help?

At Level 4, teachers are working! Please feel free to contact them via email throughout the day but be aware that they are teaching at various times so may not respond immediately.

When will Home Learning be set?

Learning and the timetable for the week ahead will be updated by Sunday evening. This will include the week's learning, days and times of teaching workshops so that you and your child can plan for the week ahead.

What online platforms will we be using?

Each teaching team will use the following online platforms:

  • Y0/2 - Epic! and Seesaw
  • Y3/6 - Epic!, Seesaw, Mathletics and Readworks

Your child/s should know their log on if not please contact your child/s teacher.

Please note that the teaching component of Home Learning will begin on Friday 20 August to allow time for teachers to prepare.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or me and remember... learning should be fun!
