Building Update

Lucy Naylor —

The building work continues and the new spaces are beginning to take shape!

Over the holiday the office has had some much-needed floor remediation, I am sure you will agree the new space looks bright, fresh and welcoming.

At the same time, Room 11 was treated to a new door, entranceway and carpet. With this work completed over the break, Room 11 will not have to be relocated as previously communicated.

As I am sure many of you will appreciate when renovating an old heritage building there are a few hiccups along the way. Rooms 4, 5 and 6 were part of the original school dating back to 1909 and has required a little more attention and variations than first thought.

Due to structural requirements, we have had to wait a couple of weeks for engineers to work out a solution for a structural wall and subfloor issue, the build is now 3 weeks behind schedule. While a bit frustrating, seeing the new spaces emerge, it will be worth the wait. We are aiming to have Room 6 back in their room by 24 August and then Room 4 and 5 by mid-September.

Once we have a final date I will then be able to let you know when the work in Rooms 1 and 2 will commence.

If you are in school, please have a look at the senior deck and you will see the new spaces coming to life!
