A group of parents has been working with Auckland Transport to bring walking school buses back to Stanley Bay.

A walking school bus is a group of children who walk together to/from school with parent supervisors along a set route. Parents take turns and shouldn’t need to walk more than one day a week. The other 4 days are free.

The children have fun, socialise with other children and arrive at school on time. It’s also a healthy way to get to school and reduces congestion at the school gate.

The Patuone Bus will be the first bus up and running, this will be starting on Monday 12 August. Details are as follows:

Where: Starts corner Cowper St and Patuone Ave

When: Mon – Fri 8:00 am
