Peninsula Kapa Haka Festival
Two weeks ago the year 4, 5 and 6 went to the Kapa Haka festival at Hauraki School. First we all got on the bus and when we finally got there we all crowded onto the path and into the hall. We came and sat down but sadly we were the last school to perform. When our turn finally came we all went out lined up outside before filing in and onto the stage. When we came back off I had really enjoyed it and I still think that it was worth all the hard work.

On the 26 of October years 3, 4, 5 and 6 went to the Kapa Haka festival. My favorite bit was when the attention shot to us on stage and we started singing as hard as we could.

We arrived at Hauraki school by bus to see lots of other schools dressed in Kapa Haka uniforms. We walked into a big concert hall and Belmont Intermediete started the concert. they were really good (I know the boys are supposed to have their t-shirts off and it ruined their performance for me). For their last song Saint Leo’s came onto the stage and both schools sang Hallelujah. We got a bit mad because that was one of our songs! After Belmont there were lots of other schools and a lot of them were good but there were also a lot of song stealers who had the nerve to sing our songs! By the time it was our turn we only had one song that hadn't been sung and that was Piripono Tia. We stood on the stage and sang our hearts out! We only made one mistake but we fixed it quickly. We had a great day but I think we can all agree one of our favorite parts was eating the delicious free hot dog.

A couple of weeks ago the school went to the Kapa Haka festival at Hauraki school. Once we arrived we went inside the hall. we went on stage fourth. At lunch we had a sausage then waited for all the other schools to their performances after that we went back to school for lunch. I really enjoyed my sausage and juice.

On Thursday two weeks ago we went to a kapa haka festival. First we got called for the roll early, and then we got on the bus I sat at the back with Charlie, Caleb, Henry, and Harvey. When we got there we put our lunch boxes and drink bottles in our class box. When we got inside we sat down and we were fourth to present. When the third school presented we went outside to practise and then when we got called in everyone was shaking. We walked onto the stage we sang Piripono Tia, Haere mai and Kamate. When we got off the stage lt was morning tea and we had a sausage in bread. We watched the seniors perform then got back on the bus and came back to school for lunch.

Two weeks ago we went to kapa haka. On the bus ride there we were practising our songs and it was heaps of fun! I really enjoyed going on stage and seeing the other schools performances. It was a great experience!
