University of Auckland School of Optometry -Research project on Myopia (short-sight)

Karyn Barnes-Pownall —

Our goal is to develop new clinical methods for arresting the progression of myopia in children, and as such we are currently running a study on a new spectacle lens for myopia.

The University is seeking participation from 8-13 year old children who are short-sighted.  Their aim is to understand the ocular effects of wearing the new spectacle lens (study approved by the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee (ref: 022140).

Please find a copy of the study flyer.  Should you wish to speak to someone or have any questions, please contact Dr Safal Khanal (s.khanal@auckland.ac.nz) or Dr John Phillips (j.phillips@auckland.ac.nz).
