It is hard to believe that we only have a few days left of the school year, time flies when you're having fun and with summer around the corner, it is a wonderful time for children to play.

Stanley Bay School took out the 'Champion School' in the local Peninsula Touch tournament and were presented with a trophy at the finals which was held last night. Well done to everyone who took part in the competition!

One of the many, many fabulous things about Stanley Bay is the support we receive from the community. One of the many 2019 highlights has been the wealth of helpers who have given up their time to support our children.

Last Thursday was the Beach Party disco - and what a great night!

Swimming pool keys are available for the summer. The school pool will be available for keyholders to use from 2 December 2019 until 31 March 2020.

We have added a new section to this terms bulletin to recognise and congratulate students for their "achievements" outside of school.

Last Friday forty-five children from SBS attended the festival hosted by Onepoto Primary School in Northcote.

A reminder to parents that we need all school library books returned to school. If your child has any library books at home we would appreciate them returned by 28 November. The library will be closed for stock take from 2 December 2019.

Time to get practising - Bowls Night 2020 is confirmed for Friday 28th February, 5.30 - 9.30pm at our local Stanley Bowling & Petanque club. The numbers are limited, competition fierce and fun and laughter epic, so you won't want to miss out. Pop it in your calendar!

Dave Gatman will be running a workshop where students will learn how to song write, and record using Garageband software.

Learning an instrument with MEC is a fun and educational way to keep your child busy and their brain active.

TGS are looking at offering a new music programme to students in Years 5 - 8 to learn concert band instruments ( Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet & Trombone ) on Monday afternoons.

The Annual Onepoto Cultural Festival is fast approaching!

Devonport Kindy extends an invitation to Year 0 - 2 and past pupils.

It is the time of year when we are beginning the process of placing children in classes for 2020. This is a robust and structured process where teachers work collaboratively using their expertise, experience, and knowledge of your child to ensure that they will be placed in the best learning environment for their needs.

Every two years the Stanley Bay School Board of Trustees consults with the school community on the content of the school health curriculum. In September, the consultation took place by way of a survey linked to the newsletter and a link sent in an email. Below is the Board of Trustees' summary of the results.

With the warmer weather and summer around the corner, the Waterwise programme is about to kick off.

Please join the Wakatere Boat Club in celebration of the many volunteer hours the wonderful instructors have provided over the last 30 years.

Our school gardens are great learning resources and the children just love being out in the dirt, eating the produce and learning about where our food comes from.

SBS competed admirably in the recent Cricket tourney held at TGS. Congratulations to Belmont Primary school who took out the event.

M Sports are coming back to SBS to hold fun Football Kidz clinics with their new inflatable pitch.

The teachers have been busy planning the teaching and learning program for term 4 and have lots of exciting opportunities in the pipeline.
