Kia Ora everyone,
Another busy week down! Last Monday Nat organised a Bridgerton themed paper dress-up. The students were put into Tribe teams and were given a set of materials they had to use such as paper, tape, 1 pair of scissors and a paper plate. They had to create a Bridgerton-themed outfit plus a make-up-inspired look. Once this was completed, student models had to walk down the runway to a song of their choice. These all turned out so beautifully and it was awesome to see all of the students put effort into this activity. There were good prizes up for grabs including a $5 Rob Roy voucher…who doesn't love that! Thanks to Nat for all your organisation 💕🤩
Our Year 9 and 10s made peg fairies on Wednesday night with Beth and Robyn. This was an optional activity if students did not have any work to complete. They had an array of paints, pipe cleaners, fluffy fabric to make the skirts and sparkly feather cutouts. These looked super cute and would make an awesome gift or decoration on the Christmas tree! 🎉
On Wednesday evening, the Year 11s had so much fun at their 1980s-themed school end-of-year activity. This was held at MegaZone with their whole year group. They really do look like they have just walked out of the 1980s era. Ka pai everyone! 😋
Last weekend the juniors enjoyed the sun. A small group went out to the beach and there was also lots of swimming in the Tolcarne Pool, and of course some snacks thanks to Bex. The weekend finished with the juniors attending the Christmas Carol service at school on Sunday night.
The boarding house is certainly going to be a whole lot emptier (and quieter) with the Year 11s having left the hostel last Friday. We are still lucky enough to have a few Year 12 and 13s floating around with the last of the NCEA exams finishing this week.
