Isla Huffadine —

Another week down, only two more to go until the school holidays! On Sunday afternoon the juniors headed to the Escape Room, taking on the challenge to 'escape'. The girls were put to the test, being locked inside old jail cells and Harry Potter themed rooms. There was a lot of problem solving and team work involved, as various clues and codes had to be cracked. They were all successful in the end, with no one being left behind 😉

The weekend was also full of ice cream treats 🍦 Patti's and Cream were spotted at Highgate on Friday night, meaning a brisk walk up the hill to try their newest flavours. I am told the best combination was the cookie sandwich - complete with m&ms, closely followed by their thick-shakes!

On Sunday the familiar tune from Mr Whippy could be heard, with everyone rushing out for the classic soft serve. The rain couldn't stop the smilles and laughter, bringing back a lot of childhood memories. Thanks to Mr Whippy for visiting us - all the way from Cromwell!

Our Tuesday after school activity this week involved a MasterChef challenge. The two teams were given 3 mystery box ingredients, having to incorporate them into their final dish. They worked with peanut butter, all spice and dark chocolate - getting very creative with flavours and the design of their sweet treat.

The first group put together a 'slice', complete with a biscuit base, caramel layer and all spice chocolate on top. The second team presented 'truffles', plated with chocolate shards and an eatable flower! Ross, Robyn and Ziggy struggled to select a winner, the level of competition was extremely high. The truffles narrowly took the win by one point! Well done to all of the girls involved, we look forward to our next cooking challenge in Term 3 👩‍🍳

Koru for the Year 9 girls this week was lead by our Boarding Leader, Cassidy! Cass put together various scenarios for the group, sparking different discussions around empathy and how we would honestly act in these situations. There was great honesty and sharing between the group, which we will continue on with next week 😀

Tonight the girls are heading to the ice rink for their weekend activity. It is the annual Mid-Winter Christmas event, meaning themed dress ups and of course the disco! This will be a fun way to finish a busy week at school 🕺⛸

Good luck to our sports teams competing this weekend, we look forward to hearing how you go! Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you back on Sunday 💕
