Library News

Sarah Ranby —

It’s all go as the Library looks to wrap up for the year! Senior students are counting down their days, and with that, I’d like to remind school leavers to ensure your Library books and class texts are returned to the Library prior to your final farewell. Books not returned will be charged to your school account.

An influx of brand new books can be found on display in the Library this week; you’ll be sure to find something that appeals! I’m particularly excited to bring two more Alice Oseman titles to the table (author of much loved series Heartstopper) and another copy of Karen M. McManus’ One Of Us Is Lying, which will be music to the ears of the long list of students awaiting this popular title on reserve! Fans of The Inheritance Games will find The Brothers Hawthorne now available, and I for one am looking forward to curling up with Lessons In Chemistry having had that recommended to me by a number of staff. As always, it is a pleasure and privilege to be provided with such generous resource to foster our community’s love of reading.

NEW to St Hilda’s Library…

Mind games. Murder. Mayhem. How far would you go to survive the night? Blackmail lures sixteen-year-old Ava to the derelict carnival on Portgrave Pier. She is one of ten teenagers, all with secrets they intend to protect whatever the cost. When fog and magic swallow the pier, the group find themselves cut off from the real world and from their morals. As the teenagers turn on each other, Ava will have to face up to the secret that brought her to the pier and decide how far she's willing to go to survive.
