Rowing
The Meridian South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships takes place at Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel, from Friday 10th - Sunday 12th of March. St Hilda's Rowing squad has been working hard over the past 6 months to attend this pinnacle event on the rowing calendar. SISS 2023 will be attended by 1133 students from 44 schools, entered in 2962 seats in 807 crews.
Our St Hilda's crews will be fighting it out in very tough racing to be the best in the South Island. Congratulations and all the very best to all our SISS squad attending SISS Rowing Championships 2023:

Athletics
Best wishes to our athletes who are competing in the Otago Secondary Schools' Athletic Champs in the weekend. After a great day on Tuesday with our own athletic's day, I am sure you will all do well!
Congratulations to Zara Geddes and Renee Willis who competed at the Jennian Homes New Zealand Track and Field Championships last weekend. Zara had amazing results, getting 3rd in both the 5000m (time of 17.47.41) and 1500m (time of 4.40.47) for the Women’s U20 category. Renee finished 8th in Shotput (throwing 11.15m) and 9th in Hammer (throwing 34.35m) in the U20 category as well.
Old girls Bernice Cullen and Rebekah Greene also gained medals. Bernice won the women’s under-20 long jump with a jump of 5.40m, and placed second in the women’s under-20 triple jump. Rebekah gained a silver medal in the women’s 1500m, with a time of 4min 16.23sec.
Otago Sports Academy
Well done to Ella Southby, Billie Crowe and Laura Ring for being selected in to Year 1 of the Otago Sports Academy.
