Tolcarne News

Isla Huffadine —

Another week down for the Tolcarne girls! As we get closer to the end of the year, there are lots of exciting activities happening around the hostel.

On Sunday the girls were lucky enough to have Dunedin's newest racing car simulator for the night! The 'Racinator' was used on repeat, with various races to have the quickest time around the track. Everyone loved testing out how fast they could go, with the matrons even giving the rest of the girls a challenge!

We also had the annual St Hilda's Carol Service at school on Sunday evening. The juniors did a great job with their singing, a lot more in tune than we can hear around the corridors at times! 😉 Barb and Stella cooked the girls an early dinner, with amazing fruit platters and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert - yum!

Flexi Prep has been on for the past two weeks with Robyn. The Year 9 and 10's have been learning to make Christmas angels, which are looking very impressive! We will continue to get into the Christmas spirit next week, with Gingerbread House decorating!

Dee Coupland came in on Tuesday and gave a presentation on nutrition to the juniors. This was a great session, with plenty of important ideas for the girls to think about. They finished the evening with an interactive activity, which was great to see all of the students getting involved in.

This weekend we are heading surfing again. Having had one session already, impressive moves will be expected!! 🏄‍♀️

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Only one full week left for 2020, time is flying by! For our remaining senior girls still completing exams, you are so close - keep up the good work. 💕
