Last Thursday night the Celebrate Design Awards were held at Te Pūkenga Otago Polytechnic. The awards recognise outstanding design work from high school students from across the Otago region.

Students from St Hilda’s were once again recognised for the high quality of their design work. In the Textiles section, Lucy Hilgeholt-Martin, Ellie Templeton and Katie Wilson received Highly Commended Awards. Lucy for her black, strapless, boned evening gown with feather detail and Ellie and Katie for their take on the classic Swandri bush shirt reimagined as chic evening wear.

Congratulations to all students who entered and had their work in the exhibition including; Elizabeth Grounds, Ruby Young, Meg Pope, Emily Wright and Jess Wilden. It was fantastic to see so much design talent from around the region on show with St Hilda’s well represented.
