Term 2, Week 1 Sport

Rachael Parker —

During the school holidays our Senior A Netball Squad came together for a training camp and 2 games against Southland Girls, who travelled up. With the delay in the start of our season this was an important two days to get a lot of learning in and some game play before the team's first premier game on the 30th April. The Senior A team is a new team this year with 7 new players to the side. This pre season hit out and the first game last weekend, shows some great young talent coming through, so looking forward to the season ahead.

Hockey:

Our 1st and 2nd X1 Hockey teams travelled to Christchurch in the holidays to play an Anzac Tournament, competing against fantastic school teams from Christchurch. The competition was challenging, playing St Margarets, Villa, Rangi Ruru, Christchurch Girls and St Andrews. The girls showed determination and tenacity growing together in their teams. It was such a fantastic opportunity to start the girls 2022 hockey season together! Thank you so much to our coaches and parents who managed and supported our girls for this wonderful tournament.

School House Cross Country 2022

Our cross country is being held on the 25th May, students will be transported to the John McGlashan field after lunch. The main course will take students into Ross Creek. All students are to take part in the course, house points will be gathered and there will also be a house banner competition. This will be the first chance that the whole school can come together and take part in an annual event. Ross Creek is an amazing track with great scenery and it's good to get the body moving and fresh air through the lungs.
