Library News

Sarah Ranby —

There has been plenty of activity in the library over the last couple of weeks as we work hard to keep up with all the comings and goings about our community!

We’re excited to be supporting Te Wiki o te Reo Māori in our library, with an outstanding collection of literature on display in our foyer. With texts written by contemporary Māori authors such as Steph Makutu and Shilo Kino, complemented by those from more established writers Patricia Grace and Witi Ihimaera, there’s plenty on offer to students and staff wishing to grow their Māori knowledge.

We’ve also had great fun collecting all our pink books off our shelves to create an eye-catching display in support of the Pink Ribbon Breakfast held in the library last Friday morning. This has been a creative way to champion a really worthy cause.

Embracing our inner Royalists, we have dug deep into our stacks to find books commemorating Queen Elizabeth II. In marking her passing, we have been reminded of and inspired by her service to the people of the Commonwealth.

With all this activity and the displays that go with it, as always, I am thankful for the efforts of our wonderful student librarians!
