Isla Huffadine —

We hope you all enjoyed a relaxing few days at home celebrating Easter 🐰 The week felt very short, only 3 school days in total. On Tuesday evening we welcomed the girls back, hearing their exciting weekend stories and all about the chocolate goodies received and consumed!

The new multi purpose court has been in full swing this week, now that we have the nets up. The hockey girls have given it the seal of approval, with lots of practice happening in the lead up to trials. We are so excited for more of the equipment to arrive, meaning other winter sports can also be practiced on the court.

Year 9 Koru was on Wednesday night. For this session we had an evening of warm fuzzies! If you are unsure of what a 'warm fuzzy' is, it involves leaving wee notes for people, showing what you are grateful for that they have done or continue to do for you. At the end of the night, every student had a book full of notes from everyone in their year group. The girls read these during quiet time, leaving them with the 'warm fuzzy' feeling before they headed off to sleep. Taking the time to reflect on what others do for you and how we appreciate one another, is a great opportunity to practice gratitude. We encourage you at some point to give others 'warm fuzzy' comments. This can brighten someones day in more ways than you would imagine!

The annual 'My Flat Rules' competition was held last night. This is always a exciting event for the Year 13 girls, working together in order to create a 3 course meal for the judges. They are challenged with time pressure and various  mystery box ingredients. We will have more to share on this next week, although I hear the food was amazing and presented to a very high standard! 👩‍🍳

Our Country Visits are just around the corner and we are looking forward to welcoming prospective 2022 families! These visits are a great chance to explore more of what St Hilda's has to offer. Along with gaining further confidence that Tolcarne can provide your daughter with a 'home away from home', fully supporting her secondary school journey and building a love of learning. If you, or anyone you know would like to attend one of our Country Visits, please fill in this registration of interest. We look forward to meeting you and your daughter very soon 💙

This weekend the Year 9 girls are heading off on a boat cruise. This all sounds very relaxing, but also provides a great opportunity for the group to see Dunedin from a different perspective - looking around from the harbour!

Have a wonderful last weekend of term. With only one more week at school remaining, this is the final push through to the holidays. Make the most of your time to finish off internals and get jobs completed, meaning more downtime in the holidays to recharge 😍
