News from Foods
This term the Year 12 foods students are looking at catering for specific food needs and sports nutrition. We made bliss balls on Wednesday to fuel us for Cross Country!
Our bliss balls contained mostly dates, which are a great source of glucose that provide energy for athletes. We also added peanut butter for protein for muscle growth.
The Year 11s are working on a food safety unit. On Friday they made vegetable scones.
The Year 13s have started a unit around the influence of multi-national food companies on our changing dietary patterns and eating habits. No pictures this week, but watch this space... We will be exploring this unit in the context of McDonalds, trying to replicate their meals from a healthier 'food made from scratch perspective'.
