Performing Arts
At St Hilda's in the Performing Arts, the Year 11 are studying Melodrama mwaaahahaahahhaaaa!!
Our Year 12 Drama students are getting their 'big teeth' stuck into a play based on Red Riding Hood - Eating the Wolf by Sarah Delahunty... 'my what big ears you have Grandma'?!
Inspired by the workshop Kimberly hosted (with Hilary Halba and Stuart Young from Otago University), at Toitu last year, our Year 13 Drama students are working on excerpts from Verbatim by Miranda Harcourt and William Brandt.
Samoan Dance is such a beautiful way of moving and our senior Dance students are finding a lot of joy embodying this genre.
Shakespeare preparations are ticking away despite logistical difficulties with 'in person' rehearsals, we are grateful for our student perseverance, so a special shout out to student directors; Amelie Warlow, Eliabel Legrand and Stella Bowles in collusion with their enthusiastic actors. Take a look below to see A 'hybrid' Shakespeare rehearsal (with a couple of students 'live' in the space)
