Tolcarne News

Beth Anderson —

Kia Ora everyone,

After what seems to have been a hectic week in the boarding house last week due to the National Boarding Week celebrations, things have certainly quietened down and students are back into the business of assignments, finishing up winter sports and co-curricular activities. Well done to our Division 1 Hockey students for taking a 2-0 win against Columba College. Many boarders went down to support wearing their blazers and holding up Hilda signs. πŸ‘πŸ“£

On Monday night, the Tolcarne Tribe leaders organised a Kahoot game for the tribe's dinner. Tribe leaders prepared a Tolcarne history-heavy selection of questions to which a surprising number of teams knew the answers. Well done with 1st place going to Highgate, 2nd Baxter and 3rd Falkland and 4th Grendon. Ka pai to all those students who participated and contributed to their tribe's points. πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’—

On Tuesday, Lauren had a group of Year 9 students in the dining hall making jewellery. What a nice way to relax in the sun and be creative with your peers! Don't they just look amazing! Thank you to Lauren for taking the time to organise this for our juniors. πŸ“ΏπŸ’

We waved goodbye on Wednesday morning to our Year 13 PE Boarders heading to the Snow Farm for a few days. Ross sent them off with some yummy hostel-packed lunches. We loved hearing about your time away up in the snow! πŸ₯Ά

The junior cohort’s weekend activity was ice skating with Bex on Sunday. This is always a highlight during the busy Term Three! Thank you Bex for organising this for our junior students. β›ΈπŸ₯°
