St Hilda's Day Service
Last Thursday the annual St Hilda's Day service was held at St Paul's Cathedral, and it was a thoughtful and lively event. The Kapa Haka Group, the Choir and Holly Hesson all performed beautifully, and the Prefects carried out their duties with grace. The Very Reverend Dr Tony Curtis, Dean of Dunedin, assisted by volunteers, reenacted such historical events as the Synod of Whitby, along with much audience participation! Throughout the service, the Dean was assisted by the Reverend Barbara Dineen, a St Hilda's Alumna and former staff member of the school.
A big thank you to all who helped make this event so special, including Dr Gillian Townsley, the school Chaplain; Catherine Cameron, accompanist; and Amelia Mah, the Choir Director.
Thank you!
The Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, Lesley Rumball (ONZM) and Vanessa van Uden (ONZM), were honoured at the service for their achievements. It was lovely to have them and their families join us for this special occasion.
