August Sporting Update

Rachael Parker —

Winter Quadrangular Tournament

Last Monday and Tuesday, 50 plus students participated in the annual winter quad sports tournament.  This year it was hosted by Columba College with visiting teams from St Margarets and Craighead.  The traditional sports of netball, hockey, badminton and debating were joined this year by football and basketball.  This was a one off opportunity to give more girls the chance to play in a tournament given many main tournaments have been cancelled due to Covid-19.  It was a great couple of days and the girls relished in competition and fairplay.

Our footballers played exceptionally well and took out the football title.  In hockey and netball there were close games and not much in the scoreline with both groups coming second.  Basketball had some great games, badminton and debating had tough opponents but did well overall.  We hope that all that played or came to watch enjoyed the tournament.
