Tolcarne News
Kia ora Everyone
What a busy Week 3 it has been. The weather can't make its mind up with what it wants to do. Nonetheless, Tolcarne is looking a lot more Christmassy with our Christmas tree being put up in the foyer as you walk in. A huge thank you to Natalie for all of the work and effort you have put into decorating the tree and the dining hall for our Senior Christmas Dinner and Year 13 celebrations. It certainly doesn’t go unnoticed and brings a whole new vibe and sense of excitement to our students.
There was no Koru this week as Ange and Robyn have been flat-out completing the incoming 2024 Year 9 interviews. Koru will start back up again next week.
Last Tuesday, Ms Rose took two Year 9s to the Botanical Gardens for an afternoon outing. It was great to get some warm weather and we were able to enjoy the sunshine together, and the colours of the spring gardens.
One very exciting event on the calendar this week was the Senior Christmas Dinner as well as the Year 13 Leavers' Dinner. This dinner is to celebrate and reflect on the five years at Tolcarne for the Year 13 students. Georgia and Lucy (Head Boarders) gave a speech and presented the Year 13 Boarders with their leavers' bracelets.
Once again, a huge thank you to Ross and his kitchen staff for the amount of effort they put into this beautiful night of celebration. They served a delicious salmon and avocado entree followed by hot ham and beef with new season potatoes, asparagus and Caesar salad. The tables looked fabulous, decorated in yellow and black.
An outing to the beach on Sunday night was also a treat for those that went.
Have a fabulous week ahead and enjoy the sun while it lasts.
