PFA Report Term 2

Ali Copeman —

After a hectic term 1 where the PFA and the school hosted our most successful fair ever, term 2 was in contrast extremely quiet.

It has been an absolute pleasure to lead the PFA, however after 3 years in the President’s chair it is time to step down and offer the reins to another member. My tenure saw the PFA introduce the Bring your own Takeaway Evening for new families and continue with our regular support/planning of the Boarder Parent BBQ, meet the Teacher/Dean evenings, Open Night Cuppa and Chat, organise the inaugural Family Fun Quiz Night including the whanau raffle and Christmas cake for the carol service. Our biggest achievements however, are our fundraising efforts two highly successful fairs saw us fundraise $120,000 for the school, host the Showcase Extravaganza approximately $5,000 and volunteering for Compass Catering at Forsyth Barr stadium netting nearly $10,000. The money raised has been us used to: support girls attending sporting and cultural events, purchase the mobile tennis net, buy some additional furniture for the arts building, purchased various wish list items for the teaching staff and the soon to be started upgrade of the student toilets near the archway. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone to join the PFA and a team of passionate parents working to benefit our girls. This year’s AGM is being held at 6.30pm on July 29 2020 in the school library.

Finally, none of these achievements could have been possible or successful without the support of the PFA committee, school community, our wonderful girls, our friends, our parents and our magnificent staff to each and everyone of you I say ngā mihi nui.

Best wishes

Ali Copeman
