Te wiki o Te Reo Mãori

September 14th - 18th celebrated and highlighted the Te Reo Mãori. Staff and students were challenged to incorporate more Te Reo in their everyday interactions such as goodbye: E noho rã or Haere rã. At lunchtime, to comment on their lunch with reka rawa! And on Friday fittingly, to say that something is great - It’s Friday, he rawe! Friday also saw the students explore the language in a visual way with chalk art.

Language is important to celebrate and as an official language of New Zealand. We aim to grow our integration of this rich language into our school.

‘Ko taku reo taku ohooho, ko taku reo taku mapihi mauria’-

My language is my awakening; my language is the window to my soul
