Tolcarne News

We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend break! It sounded like there was lots going on for our boarding families - especially with tailing happening on most farms. It has been a shorter week at school, although it certainly has been busy!

We were welcomed back to an incredible Christmas tree that Nat had put together. She had spent hours choosing the theme, painting and creating decorations, before designing the tree. Have a look at the photos below to see her 2021 creation - they don't do it justice though! Well done Nat, it looks truly amazing

At the start of the week Mrs Rathbone and Robyn took the Year 12 Boarding Leaders out for a thank you meal at Joes Garage. This was a great chance to acknowledge the work these students have put into their roles this year and for the positive difference they have made at Tolcarne

We headed to Rob Roy on Tuesday for an ice cream after a hot day at school! This was a fun trip to go on before dinner, especially when you have just walked up the bush track

On Tuesday evening we held a warm fuzzy night for the Year 11 and 12 students. After much uncertainty over the past few months, we thought it was important to come together one last time before exam leave. They wrote one another feel good messages, with lots of yummy snacks and music. At bed time each student received their collection of notes, reading through what their peers had written  This is such a great feel good activity - perfect for a Term 4 pick me up!!

Wednesday night came around, which meant it was time for the juniors to enjoy something a little special. The Year 9 and 10 students got together and also participated in the warm fuzzy activity. Following this, we played a variety of party games (including pass the parcel and the chocolate game) before enjoying a range of delicious food. Due to the social being canceled, we had a lot of mini savouries and party food to get through - which we succeeded in  This was a lovely way for the juniors to enjoy an extra special feel good evening together!

A big thank you to Molly, Tash, Robyn and the kitchen staff for making both nights a success!

This afternoon we are holding our annual Tribe Games Day. Usually this is on the Saturday before St Hilda's Day, but everything is a little shuffled around this year! We are looking forward to hearing the Tribe chants, before a range of activities. This is the last chance to earn Tribe points before the presentation of awards in the upcoming weeks (Not that I am biased... but go Baxter ). We are excited to be having a Mexican themed dinner, which will be a perfect way to end the night!

Have a lovely weekend everyone, hopefully with some sunshine   Bring on Week 3 and the last proper week of school for the Year 13 students!! Wow how time has flown by
