NASA Astronaut coming to Tūhura Otago Museum

NASA Astronaut Dr Shannon Walker will be at Tūhura Otago Museum on Thursday, the 3rd of November, and will be giving a free talk to students at 1pm in the Hutton Theatre. The talk is 45 minutes long, followed by a 15 minute Q&A session. – Dr Walker is engaging, down to earth, and an inspiration to young people everywhere about the opportunities that are opened to them through engaging with science.

Presentation at Otago Museum Botany and Horticulture study and careers "Botany with Bex"

A presentation from a Botany student at the University of Otago and a Horticulture NZ scholarship recipient - presenting at the Otago Museum next week on his university career so far and why horticulture could be a good career opportunity. The presentation will cover food science, genetics, botany, and horticulture. Specifically speaking about food sustainability, climate change, including plant breeding, environmental mitigation, bioplastics, genetic engineering, and artificial seeds.

The presentation will be at 4pm on the 1st of November in the Barclay Theatre. This will be 20-30minutes with time for questions afterwards.
