Pride Week at St Hilda's

Last week our Queer Straight Alliance organised a Pride Week for the school. We had an archway celebration on Monday morning, with music, stickers and fruit-bursts for students coming through the arch. This was an awesome start to our week, with the Pride flag flying high outside St Hilda’s.

On Tuesday we had the first of our Pride chapel/assemblies, with members of the QSA doing a rainbow prayer and a reading. At lunchtime, we watched the first two episodes of Heartstopper in the drama theatre. Despite the cold, students braved the weather for Wednesday chalk art - an awesome rainbow-themed chalk art competition in the Upper Quad. Thursday was rainbow writing with the Writing Club in the library, and on Friday we had a QSA meeting, all welcome.

We also put together an 'Out on the Shelves' library display, and had pride-related songs for the school bells all week. A big thank you to everyone who got involved, and happy Pride!! Check out the photos below to see more of what we got up to.
