Volleyball - Junior South Islands

This week our Year 9 Volleyball team headed to Invercargill to experience their first JSISS tournament. Most of the team have played social volleyball on Friday nights, but this term decided to come together and train each week.

The school were lucky enough to find a new coach Taine, who has brought loads of energy and enthusiasm to the sport. Over the past few weeks, the team has grown in their understanding of Volleyball and their skill and tactical play has improved 100%. It was awesome to see them at the tournament, going three sets in most of their games and absorbing some big pressure moments.

Their last game was against Middleton Grange, it was a great game to finish with and it could've gone either way. We took the win and the coach had some lovely words to the girls at the end about their progress and the importance of continuing to learn. They exceeded all expectations and came away with some great wins. The future of volleyball looks great if they continue to fall in love with the sport. A big thank you to Taine, Linh and Rennae who came away with the team.
