It has been a quick week after the long weekend, but we have sure packed a lot into four days! Flexi Prep was held on Thursday, along with various sports games, Koru and even a hostel clothing sale.
A lot of our senior girls are spread across the South Island on tournament week. Congratulations to the netball girls who won their tournament in Invercargill - a great achievement. Our A hockey team are still up in Christchurch, so we are thinking of them for their final day of games today - good luck!
And finally our Year 10 superstars are playing in their hockey finals today. They have played so well, coming up against some top South Island teams. Their determination and teamwork has made them unstoppable, along with their great sportsmanship. We have enjoyed hosting the team this week, with Zara, Nova and Chloe moving into Tolcarne as new 'boarders'! Good luck today girls, we are all very proud of your efforts!
Last night some of the Year 12 girls turned their common room into a shop! They gathered together clothes they didn't wear anymore and let the rest of the hostel look through their sale items. We had various dorms turned into changing rooms, fashion advice being offered and even what to pair the new items with. There were a lot of bargains to be found and the junior girls were happy with their new summer outfits! This was a great idea, recycling clothes throughout the hostel so they could be loved and worn again.
Ziggy, Robyn and Ange are heading to the New Zealand Boarding School Association National Hui next week. Robyn and Ange are presenting at the conference on Junior Wellbeing in boarding. They will share how we have developed a program that focuses on building the well-being capability of our boarding students. This will include the purpose of our well-being program, how we built and delivered it, our learning, and how it has changed the culture of our boarding house.
Have a great weekend everyone!
