Tolcarne News

We have had a week full of activities and all things Christmas! The juniors have certainly been getting into the festive spirit, which has put us all in a positive mood (Christmas music certainly does make you feel a lot better we have decided)!

On Friday we attended the annual St Hilda's Prize Giving and Leavers' Service. These were two lovely events, which we were very grateful to have under Level 2 restrictions. The Senior Prize Giving went well and we were excited to see many of our students head across the stage! We would like to congratulate all of our seniors, who have worked very hard this year. A special congratulations to our 2022 Head Boarders; Kaylee Bond and Georgie Lawson! We are looking forward to working with you both closer next year. Also to Bronte Crowe, who received one of the Sport Prefects positions.

At the Leavers' Service the Year 13 group looked stunning. Each student received their Old Girls flower, bible and had a section of their testimony read. You are officially Old Girls now! Time has flown by since you each arrived, and it seems very odd to think you won't be zooming into the carpark or office for much longer Take a look below to see some of the photos from their special evening

Our Tuesday after school activity involved a Christmas craft this week. We put together wee Christmas gift boxes, decorated with all things 'Christmassy', ready to give to someone special. Although the boxes looked stunning - we did decide they needed something to go inside! Next Tuesday we will be baking Christmas goodies to fill them up, the perfect wee gift to pay it forward to someone, or perhaps a 'to me from me' present

During prep that night, Robyn and I decided it would be fun to do something a little different. After seeing a video online, we were inspired to make 'hot chocolate bombs'. This involved melting chocolate into round moulds and letting them set, before filling one half with hot chocolate and marshmallows and melting the two semi circles together. The finished product was a round chocolate ball, filled with delicious hot chocolate treats. When placing the bomb into warm milk it slowly melted open, with the filling mixing around - yum! They certainly brought a bit of fun and excitement to our usual nightly milos! This is something to try out at home as a fun Christmas activity

On Wednesday evening Robyn made wee peg angels with the juniors. These are another Christmas craft and the perfect gift for someone. We have a very crafty bunch, take a look at what they created below! With the junior secret santa coming up, everyone is looking to make gifts they could give

We wish the seniors all the best with their exams in the upcoming weeks. It was great to hear some positivity around the exams that have already been held, so fingers crossed for more results like these! One final push before the big summer break - you can do it   When returning to Tolcarne from weekend/overnight leave, please make sure to fill out your/your daughters wellness declaration form. Thank you for your continued cooperation with our Covid-19 procedures
